How it works

From your registers to one dashboard, in three moves.

No rip-and-replace. DataHelm sits beside the POS you already run and does the translating, so you don't have to.

  1. Connect a lightweight agent

A small agent installs next to each location's POS. It reads changes only — it never writes back. It works with a local POS database directly, or polls a cloud POS's API (Square today). Enrollment is a one-time, single-use token.

  2. Map the schema — and approve it

If a POS uses a layout DataHelm doesn't recognize, its AI proposes how to translate each column into one shared model, with confidence scores. An admin reviews and approves; financial mappings require two different admins. Every mapping is versioned — nothing is applied automatically.

  3. See every location in one place

Transactions stream in continuously — revenue, volume, payment mix, agent status, per location. Every chart shows its source and last-synced time, and the current day is marked partial so in-progress numbers are never mistaken for final.

What happens under the hood

A simple, one-way path from your register to your dashboard. Data flows out; nothing flows back into your POS.

  1. On-prem agent

reads changes, hashes PII, buffers offline

  2. Secure gateway

TLS + token auth, validates events

  3. Ingestion

    maps schema, writes to ClickHouse

  4. Postgres + ClickHouse

    records + fast analytics

  5. Your dashboard

one live view of every site

Offline-safe by design

Lose connectivity and the agent keeps a local queue, then replays in order when it reconnects. No sale is dropped while a location is offline.

Nothing disappears quietly

If an event can't be processed, it goes to a dead-letter queue and is surfaced to admins for review — never silently discarded.
